I am Monika Sobjak,

offering mental health counselling for challenging life situations.

The greatest challenge is always to deal with change. Either you need to adapt to unforseen changes that happen in life or you want to change something uncomfortable in your life. The better you can learn to handle change, the faster, easier and less complicated it becomes to navigate life’s challenges.

What is changing in your life right now?

    • Relationships (relationship tensions, relationship transitions)
    • Workplace (work-life balance, workplace stress and conflicts, burnout, change)
    • Habits (healthier lifestyle, building new habits into your daily routine)
    • Home (moving, renovating, rearranging – creating a new home order)

What all of the above situations have in common is that the change disrupts your usual lifestyle, and you have to figure out and then get used to how to continue. And that’s not easy, even if it’s a positive and joyful change for you. But you’re not alone in this!

Change is not easy, but you don't have to deal with it alone! If you want to navigate the change faster, more predictable, and easier I can support you.

How can I help you?

I have been working with people for over 20 years. During this time, I have exprienced many challenges, struggles, sorrows and difficult decisions – including in my own life. My experience is that one thing makes life’s changes easier: if we learn to move with them. To accept the discomfort that comes with change more peacefully, to plan for the transition period, to close the passing chapter more quickly and to tune in to the possibilities of the future. I want to make this possible for those who choose me to accompany them through their changes.

I work with a holistic approach, which means that when solving a problem, I like to explore both the aspect of thinking, beliefs and ideas related to the issue; both the aspect of emotions, desires, hopes, sorrows and fears related to the situation. To do this, I use exercises from the toolbox of cognitive behavioral therapy, solution-focused coaching, applied psychology, art therapy, symbols and tales.

Practical information

    • The length of a session is 50 minutes.
    • The consultation fee is 15,000 HUF/session.
    • Frequency: weekly – biweekly, by appointment.
    • Location: Online (Google Meet), or in person in Budapest (XI. district, Bikás park), or in Nagymaros (10 minutes walk from the train station), depending on availability.
